Development projects
In 2006, STOP AIDS NOW! worked on the implementation of 3 development projects: Managing HIV and AIDS in the workplace, Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Gender. The development projects aim to encourage innovation in, and development of, new working methods and forms of collaboration. The lessons learned during the process are incorporated in future activities. This also accounts for the activities of the organisations united in the STOP AIDS NOW! partnership. Eventually this will result in a more effective response to the HIV and AIDS epidemic.
Additional projects
Thanks to funding by the Dutch National Postcode Lottery additional activities for orphans and vulnerable children in South Africa were financed. The Dutch National Postcode Lottery also financed the Okambilimbili (= butterfly) project in Namibia. The Okambilimbili project aims to increase availability of medical insurance including HIV and AIDS treatment, for people with limited means. The project is implemented by PharmAccess.
