UNAIDS is the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS. Each year UNAIDS produces an AIDS epidemic update report on the latest developments in the global AIDS epidemic. The estimates are based on all available data, including surveys of pregnant women, population-based surveys, and other surveillance information.
