"Strengthening support mechanisms in communities to cope with the growing number of OVC in times of HIV and AIDS"
With this project, STOP AIDS NOW! aims to support Malawi organisations in linking and learning and to develop innovative strategies to improve the well-being of orphans and vulnerable children. Goal of the projects
Two projects will be implemented one on Lobby and Advocacy and one on Psychosocial Support. Both projects drew their overarching goal from the Government of Malawi’s National Plan of Action for OVC, because both sought to contribute to the facilitation of support for care, protection and development of OVC. For more information on the projects itself and the achievements, please click on the links above. In 2010 the projects were evaluated and resulted in the evaluation report ‘Learning as we go’.
End of 2009 a third project was added on Strengthening Social Cash Transfer Scheme, that tries to mitigate the economic and psycho social impact of HIV and AIDS on OVC and their caretakers. NOVOC is lead agent in this project.

According to the partner organisations involved in the projects in Malawi, the Linking & Learning approach is unique and can have great benefits. Read more...
