  • 'Continued advocacy on Social Protection', including social cash transfers, as a possible answer to child poverty in times of HIV/AIDS. This is achieved by organising expert meetings, political debate, and participation in national and international advocacy and lobbying:
    - ‘Social Protection’ Report from Expert Meeting 15 and 16 February 2007 – This report aims to make the connection between social protection in the form of social cash transfers and protection against abuse and neglect.
    - ‘Social Cash Transfers; an answer to child poverty in times of HIV/AIDS’, Report on Expert Meeting 11 May 2006 - This report gives the different definitions of social protection, explains the concept of social cash transfers and outlines the results of pilot projects as well as the advantages and disadvantages of social cash transfers.

  • The introductory meeting for the Malawi linking and learning pilot project took place on 11 and 12 April 2007 in Lilongwe. See the report for the outcome of the meeting.
