STOP AIDS NOW! Prevention project
Targeting youth through life skills
This development project will focus on targeting youth through Life Skill programmes. Even though the importance of a life skill component within HIV prevention programmes for young people is commonly accepted, a vast number of these programmes are not as broadly implemented and as effective as they could be. With this project we aim to contribute to increased quality and access to effective prevention programmes that include life skills for youth.
Important issues are:
Zambia:
- Monitoring and evaluation of Life skill programmes on outcome level
- Strengthen Implementation process of Life Skills
- Integration of Livelihood into Life Skill programmes
Zimbabwe:
- Monitoring and evaluation of Life skill programmes (in general)
- Youth Volunteers management (in relation to Life skill programmes)
- Addressing need of HIV positive youth in Life Skill programmes
Within the project we aim to integrate our lesson’s learnt along the way and thus continously increase the quality of our life skill programmes. The activities are based on the Learning by Doing approach and are described in the Action Plan. An applied research study measures the effects of the activities. The outcomes of the study will be shared as soon as they are available.
