Managing HIV and AIDS in the workplace
- Project information: description

Project location and time frame
The project period in Uganda is from January 2005 to December 2008. In India the projects runs from January 2006 to December 2009. These two different countries were chosen to facilitate the project’s linking and learning function. Workplace issues differ in HIV and AIDS high prevalence countries and HIV and AIDS emerging countries. Working in both a high and low prevalence country provides an opportunity for cross-regional analysis and comparison. The issues that arise in Uganda and India will be carefully studied, both the process and the results. In some specific cases it might be possible to take the best practices from Uganda (high prevalence country) and use them in India (emerging country), thus contributing to early intervention. Based on the successes in Uganda and India Cordaid and Oxfam Novib decided to provide funding for the implementation of a similar project in Ethiopia.
