Good Donorship in times of AIDS
Instead of being concerned bystanders, STOP AIDS NOW! is committed to opening up dialogue and actively supporting partner organisations to develop and fund workplace policies. One outcome of this is the document "Good Donorship in a Time of AIDS: Guidelines on Support to Partners to Manage HIV and AIDS in the Workplace". Although the guidelines are aimed at donor organisations, they can also be useful for local NGOs, governments and businesses. Most importantly, the guidelines are not just talk; they present explicitly stated principles and commitments from the STOP AIDS NOW! partners, including financial and other support that can be given. This means that local NGOs and donor staff know exactly what support is offered, why, and what the limitations are. For example, STOP AIDS NOW! partners will fund the costs of workplace policies of their partner organisations up to a maximum of 4% of total staffing costs.

The guidelines "Good Donorship in a time of AIDS" are available in: English, French, Portuguese and Spanish .

What’s it likely to cost?
Does your organisation, or your partner, want to tackle the issue of HIV and AIDS in the workplace? One of the challenges you will face is budgeting. What should be in the budget, and how to estimate the costs? What should not be included? What makes a good budget? This tool explores these and other questions. It shows how to budget for a workplace policy. The tool is useful for local NGO staff who do the budgeting, and for programme officers at donor organisations who assess and fund the budgets. It is available in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.

Spreadsheets ‘What’s it likely to cost?’ These spreadsheets illustrate low-cost, medium-cost and higher-cost approaches. For simplicity’s sake, it concerns workplace policies that are specifically about HIV and AIDS, instead of more general ones. The spreadsheets help you budget the costs for an HIV and AIDS workplace policy within your organisation.

Half-year reports country projects
Half-year reports are prepared by the Project Coordinator at country level. Please click here for an overview of the report of the pilot project:

Project database

To supplement the country reports, a web-based project database is under construction. It will allow transparent data management with quarterly standard reporting. The project database will be launched the second half of March.

Applied Research
To maximise the learning from the development project, an applied research study is part of each country pilot project. Read more about the results so far...
