STOP AIDS NOW! Project Office in Ethiopia:
- Prepare annual plans and ensure the implementation of project activities
- Provide general guidance to the development and implementation of workplace policy and programs
- Coordinate and engage in applied research undertakings
- Consult and get advise from project steering group on annual plans and activities
- Provide advice and technical support to participating NGOs
- Serve as a focal point for communication between partners and steering project steering group
- Engage in fund raising, lobby and advocacy
- Organize and conduct workshops, trainings, exposure visits and similar events to enhance the capacity of partner organizations
- Establish a relationship with key actors in the area of internal mainstreaming (government authorities, NGOs, bilateral and multilateral donors and private sector)
Official launch Country Project Ethiopia
The Ethiopian HIV and AIDS workplace project for 35 NGOs partnering with Cordaid and Oxfam Novib was officially launched on 28th March 2008, at the Global hotel, in Addis Ababa. During the event the following activities took place:
- Presentation of the action plan of the project to partner organisations and other key stakeholders
- Sharing experiences of HIV and AIDS workplace policy implementation by NGOs and the business sector
- Informing the general public about the importance of development and implementation of HIV and AIDS workplace policy
- Establishment of a learning community among partners and stakeholders
