Study report - Stigma and Discrimination in the Informal Sector Experienced by People Living with HIV

Download (1.89 MB)

The stigma and discrimination study was commissioned by our Community of Practice on HIV and Livelihoods to provide a rigorous foundation for its practice guideline on stigma and discrimination and to develop a methodology which partners could use in order to measure progress and determine the strategy in tackling stigma and discrimination. A tool was developed which assesses stigma on three dimensions in people living with HIV (internalized, anticipated and enacted) and in people ostensibly HIV negative (prejudice, stereotypes and discriminatory behavior). This tool could be used by other organisations working on HIV-related stigma and discriminations.
